It's a good presentation and interview, but... this is about teaching boxing. Boxing leads to injury. It's supposed to lead to injury. (Remember Mohamed Ali.) One way to think about this is that if in a boxing match, one boxer hits the other in a way that results in death, the boxer who killed the other one wins. You should want to damage the other boxer (ideally, you knock him or her out), and there's no penalty for doing it.

Even in sports where far more precautions are taken, like American football, there's a disturbing rate of CTE, and it leads to functional damage or suicide. I completely agree with the value of sports, and especially team sports, but not boxing.
