I voted for Kamala Harris, hoping she would change her policy on Gaza once she was president instead of vice president and no longer obliged to support Biden's policies. What happened, I think, is that the glass ceiling kicked in. It was there all along, and Democrats were incredibly rash to disregard it and run a woman against the evil that Is Trump.

Done. For your daughter and mine and you and me and our families and everybody’s families, done. ❤️

Please stop pretending we have a democracy already. That is self defeating. This is an oligarchy. How else can you explain the unrepresentative abomination that is the senate. It’s basic math people and a big part of the reason it’s always 2 steps forward 2 steps back in this land of cognitive dissonance.

Or that the federalist society(a very tiny group of ultra wealthy have appointed the last 3 at least Infirm Court Injustices) you know the ones that used to pretend to care about “activist judges” ignoring precedent.

Democrats are not the answer.

This is a battle here and across the world whether we will have “conservative” oppressive values or progressive human rights values.

So far the dems always go for supporting the oligarchy status quo and the false bipartisanship of cowardice, capitulation, and appeasement of conservatism

Then lead by example and work to fix it. Don't tell me what isn't the answer. Show by example what is.

We need single payer insurance! It's a load of!💩💩💩💩 t2hat it can't be done!🤬😈💙💙💙💙💙💙

It can’t be done because sellouts like Biden and walz always offer the big hospitals and insurance companies(their donors) line item veto.

That’s what killed single payer in ACA and that’s what killed a great bill in Walz home state while he was governor(why do you think he gave an unsolicited plug to the mayo clinic in his debate. Twice!) he is a servant of the oligarchy.

I voted a few days ago because thanks to good government in Colorado, voting is easy and can be done in any of several ways. I voted for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz before I even knew about your daughter; but as I was filling out my ballot, I knew that this vote was like a prayer for all of us whose lives would become ones of desperation under Donald Trump. I know most of my fellow Coloradans will vote for her as well, as we are now finally a reliably blue state. Even people who support Donald Trump and vote for him would suffer unknowable hardships; they are just too unaware, or too bigoted, or too infantile to understand that. As a freelancer, I have been on the ACA plan since its inception, but I finally switched over to Medicare this month, as I will turn 65 on November 19. (Give your fellow Scorpio daughter a big hug for me.) 😊 Having that ACA plan helped me through aggressive breast cancer treatment; otherwise I might be dead today. I am still paying off the out-of-pocket debt from that, but I would have been completely devastated and or deceased without the ACA. I thank President Obama every single day for pushing that through during his first term.

I agree with Rob Nelson above that Trump is not going to win this election. I noticed there’s a big rally in the stock market today, and that’s because all signs are pointing to Kamala winning. Trump has been an indescribable drain on this country and on every one of its citizens. He will be taken out to the woodshed today. I believe it’s over for him even if he doesn’t admit it. I also believe that we are going to have good results in the House and Senate, and this will give us at least a couple of years of progressive action and relief from this 9-year trauma we have been through.

PS: Your daughter is just beautiful and those photos of you and her made my heart sing. Children are our future. I rose this morning with the intention to upgrade to paid on your newsletter and one other writer whom I deeply appreciate. Now you gave me an even better reason to do that.

I have cast my ballot up and down for Democratic candidates! There is no way I can condone any maga candidate. They are folks who believe in nothing but supremacy. The ACA is not perfect by any means. We deserve better healthcare (universal) than what we have now. Even in the mountains of West Virginia, they know this. No one should have to pay as much as we do for prescription drugs. There are no excuses for this. It needs to change. Please vote Blue up and down the ballot!

Predatory capitalism runs rampant in the USA. I don’t know how normal non wealthy people survive. I can’t imagine going bankrupt because my daughter is ill. This is what Streeting wants to do with the NHS. Any country as rich as the USA should have universal healthcare, most do. Love to you and your daughter, these are dangerous and scary times…

It's truly mortifying. I've been a broke law student before and but for the mercy of a doctor who waived his fees, we would have been financially devastated. We need healthcare as a human right.
