Who is igniting antisemitism in America?
The ADL Data Tells A Story Very Different From The Media Narrative
Antisemitism is bad. It is wrong. It is dehumanizing. Period.
There’s no “but” after the above statements, and there’s no debate about the evilness of antisemitism.
The purpose of this post is to understand the source of antisemitism in America, because the facts tell us a very different story than the media narrative. While several media reports seek to malign peaceful university students protesting the siege on Gaza as antisemitic, the truth historically and contemporarily demonstrates otherwise. Let’s pull out the receipts.
While media is demonizing Muslims and the left as antisemitic, I looked up the ADL data on antisemitic hate crimes in America. The ADL H.E.A.T. Map data goes back to 2002. If you had to guess what percentage of antisemitic hate crimes were from Muslims vs Leftists vs Right over the past 22 years, what would you guess?
Let's start with antisemitic hate crimes by Muslims or "Islamists" as the ADL calls them. Would you believe that since 2002, the ADL records exactly 0 antisemitic hate crimes by Muslims? ZERO.
So what about leftists? Well, you might be surprised once more.
According to the ADL, since 2002, leftists have been responsible for a whopping...0 antisemitic hate crimes. ZERO.
So to keep count. Zero antisemitic hate crimes from Muslims. Zero antisemitic hate crimes from leftists. What percent then, shall we guess, does the Right account for in antisemitic hate crimes since 2002?
According to the ADL, since 2002, the Right has been responsible for an incredible, a horrifying, a sickening 100% of antisemitic hate crimes—totaling at least 3058 antisemitic hate crimes. And it's getting worse.
So to quickly recap—per ADL, perpetrators of antisemitic hate crimes in the United States of America since 2002 are:
0% Muslim
0% Leftist
100% Right Wing
Would you have known that following the media narrative demonizing Muslims and the left?
As we watch an interfaith cohort of university students—Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, people of no faith and every faith—stand united for justice for Palestine, it is critical we ensure antisemitic provocateurs do not detract from their efforts for justice. It is critical we stand united—Muslims, Jews, Christians, Sikhs, people of all faith & no faith—against all antisemitism, Islamophobia, & xenophobia. Indeed, it is powerful to watch Jewish students at Columbia lead the charge and condemn the weaponization of antisemitism against their efforts to promote peace and justice.
If we do not stand united against hate, we risk allowing right wing extremists to drive both the media narrative, and also the policy narrative. That will harm Jews, Muslims, and every minority group in America. We must uphold justice above all else. That is the path to peace.

Great article, Qasim! Also, I like the fact that you included screenshots as supporting evidence. Interestingly enough, it seems now it is no longer possible to filter their antisemitic incident heatmap by ideology. Your article must be having an impact then!
