I’ve had Joyce Vance and Jay Kao articles removed as spam or going against community standards or for trying to get likes. This week I had an article regarding Senator Ron Wyden’s proposal for Supreme Court reform removed. When I answered a survey they ran and said I thought their removals were biased and arbitrary I got sent a generic does this help explanation about how they have community standards and treat everyone the same. It’s all bs.

They’re flailing. They know they have no point so they are just blocking anything remotely critical of maga extremism

I just had one of my posts taken down because it questioned Trump’s sanity. C’mon, it’s an open secret that Trump is succumbing to dementia. His own father had it. Of course, people aren’t going to vote for someone who is mentally deteriorating. The Republicans are scrambling to hold onto the election.

that is why I come to sub stack first and foremost to read about world events from authors like yourself who I trust! Facebook seems to function as a social sharing site where only corporate approved posts are approved.

Time to leave … I left two years ago and never was on Twitter. Elon is a nutjob…

It's not just you. LinkedIn is also strangely calm among the corporate crowd, with more outspoken connections seldom appearing on my thread (tho still posting), or other accounts reported pulled down.

Meta thrives on political ad revenue, whether with ads bought by foreign government actors or corporate self interests. Looking at the coverage yesterday of the Economic Forum "interview" in Chicago is telling. What was being cheered so loudly and enthusiastically by business leaders? What was being normalized as just regular political talking points by senior political reporters?

Economic Club - and who else sounded "pretty enthused"?

Sharing this post. I really appreciate your blog, you clearly have impact to empower silenced voices and really educate people. The more impact you have the more pushback you receive and it only validates exactly why your voice needs to be heard. I want to read substantial content (like yours), and that is not something that social media provides unless blogs/writings such as yours are shared. I don't really like social media, I have used and cancelled multiple platforms as I have found repeated hostile behaviors towards marginalized communities, and I'm so tired of the general global push to the right and attacks on liberals. I only use social media now in some hope that sharing substantial messaging like yours and connecting meaningfully with others in some way is possible to make a difference. Thank you for another great article and for all you do. It shouldn't be so difficult to have marginalized voices present and standing up to injustice.

This is a type of rant. If Trump is elected with Elon in tow, I suspect all platforms will be censored. I don’t have any evidence, but keep it in mind.

Oppressive regimes and big tech companies that enable them are doubly dangerous.

Keep writing the truth, Qasim.

For this very reason I have stopped using Meta platforms Facebook, Instagram and Messenger. My anti Trump posts and comments were removed for violating community standards but openly racist, misogynistic, transphobic, homophobic and comments condemning migrants on posts about lies regarding crimes committed by said migrates were deemed not to violate community standards. Why I am on substack Heather Cox Richardson said her letters from an American and posts were being lost from peoples news feed unless you searched for them. Other members I have spoken with have had this happen also

I stay on those platforms because many thoughtful people are there and value my work, and I want to keep those relationships going. But that's also what makes the censorship so insufferable.

Heads up when sharing Substack posts to FB. Several folks I know have had those direct shares censored, as well. They seem to hold up better when the link is given in the first comment under an innocuous original post.

That’s what I’ve found too. Although their removals are so arbitrary you can think something is fine and they still remove it.

I shared some posts from this sub and my fb page disappeared all of my posts, ever, for a day and a half last week.

2016 it was the right screaming about being sensored. As per the usual, we just need to follow the money. Citizens United verdict needs to be revisited

Wholly disappointed but utterly unsurprised regarding Meta’s practices. That platform has been in a steady decline for years.

Another content creator that I follow had just posted about how left leaning pages seem to be getting censored.

A great article. Thank you for what you do.

Thank you Lee. Yeah Meta's arbitrary rules become more and more bizarre daily.

I have experienced the same kind of censorship from FACEPLANT!

They care more for corporate interests than those of the public.

Congress NEEDS to rein in this BLATANT CENSORSHIP!

I'll go a step further than Edie Sadowski and KnoxAnn Armijo, and encourage everyone to get off all "social" (actually antisocial) media. That goes for you, too, Qasim, even though you have 130K followers. You and your followers are worth money to facebook, and this is how they treat you.
