A reminder of why we cannot relent in our advocacy for human rights and justice, and why your support to counter this censorship becomes increasingly important every single day.
We need to all gradually migrage away from Meta and Google and Youtube as platforms.. I already am starting to get use to Substack, being much better than FB.. Getting away from Youtube is harder.. but for consequential things, I think Rumble will be better... if anyone suggests something better... that would be good too!
keep fighting the good fight.. the Peaceful Resistance against Violence and Evil
Qasim, you are one of the few authentic voices I know I can always trust. Thank you for being you! This censorship and the others I read here in the comments, show me that Meta is indeed Maga and is thrilled with the fascistic, dangerous project 2025.
Are we ever in trouble when in addition to MSM, the most popular SM platforms are also censoring the truth. Yep, Project 2025 already exists in the hearts and minds of shameless billionaires.
I have a good friend that served in the US congress for over 20 years; he calls Netanyahu a "War Criminal" I don't like calling people names but in this case my firend is spot on
We should all be critical of Israel for its actions. Therefore, if criticism of Israel is being antisemitic, well, then, I am antisemitic. As we all should be.
Meta has stopped me from accessing Democracy Docket on FB and for even typing in @democracydocket on Threads. Censorship against even looking at or typing in a name that's literally working everyday to protect U.S. citizens voting rights feels like Zuckerberg has already signed on to Project 2025. I couldn't believe my eyes to get the messages on those two social media sites.
I wouldn't hold your breath for a response. Now if you had posted some wild conspiracy theory or white supremacist content, there would have been no problem with your content.
Thank you, Qasim, for letting us know about this unwarranted and dangerously manipulative choice by META.
In addition to other qualities of your conscious efforts, your commitment to factual assessments and factual observations isn't subject to question; the commitment is explicit and supported by each of your articles. Your mutual respect for others is also always explicit and supported throughout your work.
If META chooses to object to your style of reporting and assessing, then they must be 'marketing' only propaganda and baseless opinion, both of which are dangerous and unnecessary.
Thank you, again, for your work on assessing the tragic situations of the Palestinians.
Long ago I decided social media was a waste of time and space so I have no personal experience of content or their policies - only what I read in critiques of their platforms. Very little that I read from feedback to various news feeds strikes me as informed by anything other than the writers' superficial reactions and opinions. The very few posters who seem to know where of they write do so in long form reasoned essays and I suspect that a minority of readers absorb the whole thinking behind the piece. It seems likely too many people are too impatient and know little of the long history of Israeli/Palestinian conflict , going back decades long before Hamas appeared on the scene. Nor do they understand the turmoil of the middle east and the power struggles there that have gone on for centuries. To be honest neither do I - but I have picked up bits and pieces over 75 years of reading, listening to the radio (before TV was available) and generally absorbing all kinds of news.
Americans have always seemed to distrust the UN probably because it gives people rarely heard from a voice, and Americans have never liked to hear challenges to their delusions about American exceptionalism.
On the other hand, many of the better informed and educated American students have lost their "American religion" through the new mechanisms of information available to them; in the same way the student Vietnam protestors back in the day, could not be buffaloed about the immorality of the antiquated anti-communism surrounding that conflict. Those who were "woke" at that time have become cynical in their latter days but youth still questions the immorality of empires and real politik
Meta seems to be stuck in the olden days when only certain opinions were considered legitimate. In a funny way Meta reminds me of Senator McCarthy and the HUAC. Both smack of hypocrisy.
They are also censoring Democracy Docket. Anyone who shared one of their stories in the past years got dinged for a cybersecurity threats claiming we were trying to collect sensitive data.
I will be glad to sign a petition to Meta. Is there one being considered? Not much use perhaps. But if every reader signed it, that might be effective.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Facebook. I'm not surprised that Facebook, known for spreading conspiracy theories and misinformation, would find your post offensive. I posted the link you sent to my Facebook account. Lies spread faster than truth in the US. Truth doesn't fit the current paradigm in America and that paradigm includes the genocide of the Palestinian people.

I haven't had such a high profile case.. but in my little corner of the internet and facebook, Meta has been doing similar things. They are HORRIBLE

If you, as a LAWYER, are being suppressed and oppressed by Maga, I mean Meta...what recourse do we the (regular) people have?

I left facebook back in2017 after the Cambridge Analytica stuff broke. Don't miss it one bit.

I had the same thing happen to me, as just another person stating my views on the genocide.

That's what you get for speaking on the truth. Grounded from going live 7day tied to the post!

I appreciate the boost, Duane. Thank you.
