Today I read a quote from Faulkner where he declines to accept the end of man. I decline to believe in the end of democracy in the United States. I hope everyone joins me in this refusal to believe we will not survive this, as disheartening and devastating as it seems. Time to step up to write new chapters in our ongoing expansive story. We will learn and put better boundaries in place to prevent future harm and to reduce disinformation. We will weather this even as our planet will continue to suffer. Somehow we will rise to the occasion this four year period and bring about better outcomes, more critical thinking, more compassion and virtue, more enlightened public opinion, and new leadership. The mission is to enlarge the group of critical thinkers who use heart with no love of power or need for glory, just enhancing the experience of human kind on this lovely planet.

I have to tell you that this is the first time I have laughed instead of groaned at one of your dad jokes. ❤️

You can compete fairly.

I love you ❤️ Red 🦊

Your response to the person who needed to emphasize that this is not a “Muslin” country made me laugh out loud. Luckily, I was not ingesting coffee at the time. The thing is, I doubt he or she understood your response. These people appear to be living in some alternate universe. Have a restful weekend. Next week is going to be a real doozy.

Someone responded, "it's spelled SATAN, not SATIN."

I was like yeah...your brain has turned to mesh.

I get very depressed on some days when I see the kind of hatred that has taken over the minds of some of our fellow Americans, largely due to one depraved man. But I guess it always had to be simmering under the surface. When I was a kid and teenager growing up in the 60s and 70s, there was a lot of turmoil in this country, but I do not remember this level of hatred and personal abuse. Social media has helped people, total strangers, to abuse each other online.
