Help Me Uphold Human Rights
An ask and a vision for the future of Let's Address This and beyond
Today is “Black Friday.” The infamous Friday Americans gorge on materialistic things the day after giving thanks for what we already have :)
So on this day, I’d like to make a few requests I hope you consider.
Summary:
Support small and local businesses in your holiday shopping
Become a paid subscriber today to Let’s Address This for the price of a cup of coffee a month
Uplift marginalized communities
Buy Local
One, as you shop, prioritize small businesses, locally owned businesses, women and minority owned businesses, and Unionized businesses. Small, local, and union shops built this country, and we should invest our resources in them to continue to strengthen our middle class. (Shameless plug that if you’re looking for stylish attire, shawls, or activism wear, my wife’s small business Equal Entrance is your spot!)
Invest in Let’s Address This
Two, I’d like to ask you to join the Let’s Address This movement and become a paid subscriber.
For those who are paid subscribers, my deepest gratitude to you, and my ask of you is invite your network to also become a paid subscriber. Or, give them a Let’s Address This Gift Subscription.
I launched Let’s Address This just seven months ago and this week we surpassed 80,000 subscribers! Just incredible. I deeply cherish your trust and partnership as we tackle these critical human rights issues that legacy media continues to ignore.
Since launching Let’s Address This we have:
Recorded and aired 33 podcasts with national thought leaders.
Published 231 articles spanning critical topics like genocide, protecting abortion, economic, social, and climate justice, Indigenous rights, combatting antisemitism, the Presidential debates, child protection, immigration, police reform, and more.
Earned 80,000+ subscribers from all 50 states and from 139 countries globally.
Our movement is growing, and we have major plans for Let’s Address This. This includes:
Long form video content.
A growing podcast repertoire.
A Let’s Address This merch store.
New and prominent guest voices.
These projects require resources. And with legacy media plummeting due to lack of credible reporting, my ask of you is to invest your resources into Let’s Address This. Help better ensure that you, and everyone you know, is more informed on the critical human rights issues that impact us all.
Uplift Marginalized Communities
Three, and finally, invest in your local non-profits and social welfare programs. Whether it is donating your time, food, clothing, or money — play an active role in uplifting those individuals and organizations doing the hard work of serving all humanity. For my part, I am donating to Humanity First USA, a resilient non-profit that provides food, shelter, clothing, healthcare, and education access to marginalized communities here and abroad.
In Conclusion
Both our country and our world are in precarious times, and that is why we must continue to stand united for the sake of all humanity. You have my promise to stand firm for justice above all else. Thank you for your trust as we continue to fight for universal human rights. I will not let you down.
Congratulations on all your accomplishments in establishing this independent journalism! Spent my energy and $$ on candidates and trying to get the word out on Project 2025 this year. But will focus on independent journalism like yours, Dr. Reich, Heather Cox Richardson and Thom Hartmann in the future. Independent journalism may become critical given the threat of a war on journalism. Aloha!!!
I just ordered a couple of things from Equal Entrance and can't wait to get them!
