That is completely unhinged. Nobody deserves that.

I am quite happy to have found you on here. I cannot handle much of social media anymore, Facebook being my only source (which is how I discovered you through a mutual friend). Part of the reason I had to step away from all the others was similar responses from reporting comments. Never, not one time, have I seen a truly hateful comment removed. Plenty of people have been banned, blocked, or suspended for minor things, but actual hate speech gets a free pass.

I am so sorry you dealt with such hatefulness and such an ignorant and useless response.

Social media is a product of America's promiscuity. Always needing something new to entertain us and titillate use. They will own us until we give up this addiction.

I went through something similar on Instagram, to the point that I reported hundreds of people but could not bring myself to read the Instagram responses anymore, & to this day I still don’t - I simply delete them. I stopped using Twitter because of Musk, then he followed & unfollowed me a bizarre amount of times on Substack to the point that I started to suspect mental health issues. I love that more folks are outing these nutters though because it allows ALL of us to report & block them at the same time.

Yes. Thank you for putting up that link. This has been a long term plan with many players for many years. I know that sounds like a conspiracy theory, but it is not. As they are getting closer to their goal, we are seeing more and more come out and blatantly show their beliefs. Frightening times.

Forget the dreck on Twitter. I was banned from Twitter before Elon Musk and I never would write any hateful posts about anybody. They are a computer-generated website with no customer service and extremely faulty algorithms, and extremely faulty flagging systems. I never could get them to tell me what they claim I wrote, or revoke the ban on me, and so I simply gave up worrying about them. I have flagged many comments on Facebook as well, and it does the same ignoring act. The high numbers of users is what generates their ad revenue, so they are both loathe to ban anyone, except the good people! Secondly, you’ll note this extremely devoid racist is anonymous, therefore a coward, and the furthest thing from “supreme” that one can get. It is always the bottom feeders who subscribe to “White Supremacy” as one has to be quite devoid of everything else in his/her life to point to the absence of color in one’s skin as his/her “superior trait.” These people thrive on terrorizing others. The less you care about their diseased minds, the better. I once (in a moment of too much vino) posted on a neo-Nazi website, and the next thing I knew one of the group came after me on my personal email address. I went back and forth in a long exchange for days with this pathetic character, and when he could not scare or intimidate me, he simply slunk away. I tried to get him to engage again, but I couldn’t. That is how pathetic these characters are. Their diseased minds are not relevant, as long as there are no physical threats. They create nothing good on earth and leave nothing good on earth. In the end, that is all we have -- what we leave behind. The ultimate loss is in their own lives, which are clearly lived in some sort of misery. Sadly, way too many people suffer from some sort of mental illness; White Supremacy is just another form of mental illness. I don't know why the medical profession doesn't work on a cure.

Qasim: I’ve seen some nasty attacks thrown your way on Twitter but this one is extra vile. I wonder what would happen if you invited him to have a real conversation like you did that one time? I’m sure it’s exhausting though.

As salaam alaikum.

wasalaam Kim - Thank you. It is exhausting, you're right. And something this vile I have to think about my and my family's safety before engaging. I'm hopeful that by elevating the reality of this type of bigotry we can bring more people along to be engaged and actively work together to counter it. Thank you for being part of that coalition for compassion and humanity.

I am sorry you have had to hear these kind of hurtful lies. I refuse to expose myself to twitter or most social media for that matter. Many on them work toward likes, not civil discourse, and likes increase with supposed outrage. Consider the source, what kind of person chooses the name Goony Goohoo, or is it a bot?

Mr Musk has made it very clear that regardless of what twitter rules state he has allowed hate speech and even engaged in himself. Musk is a fan of Schadenfreude and gaslighting. These are tactics that women know well. The best thing is to not give these idiots any of your energy, Your work is too important to be distracted by these hate mongers. I think we must all try and accept that twitter has become a rich man’s plaything not worthy of our time,

Non profit makes sense but didn’t think of local candidate or group. Will go look for one, there have to be one or two that have progressive positions that include Palestine?

X, like other social media, is anti-social, as your experience proves. Boycott it, I say.

I was permanently banned from twitter years ago (was either a #metoo era comment to castrate all rapists or calling Pirro a b itch, not sure; was never told why.

But… if EVERYONE who still Xs… found that comment and also reported it???

As a person who by birth is a Caucasian… I am disgusted and horrified by the racism thriving in the now misnamed United States of America.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Dr Martin Luther King. I’m new here and in serious shock at the comments although not twitter’s response. Better to bring error to the surface even as we become its target at times.

yesterday I filed a 36 page motion for sanctions for ten years of pleadings and positions that misstated facts and law found in two appellate decisions I won against these levee builders who harm 102 farm families here in Illinois. I complained as we went but the judge was against us. For ten years. Then by miracle of prayer- since a substitution of judge motion did not work- we got a new judge just recently and the log jam has broken. my bitching about unethical conduct that has exacerbated litigation and kept us from our rightful injunction to remove five miles of unpermitted levees might get audience.

Tenacity does pay I hope. My last appellate win against another party in this case caused settlement ($915,000) after 16 years of fighting thanks to the latest of so many appellate decisions overturning the trial court - lots of effort!

As a senior aged lawyer I am applauding you for not taking it and I am advising you: “ the wheels of justice grind slowly but finely.” Illinois former Supreme Court Justice goldenhersh.

Penni, Thank you for your perseverance and for protecting family farms. I live in Illinois and come from farm families. Big Ag, and chemical companies have huge lobbying bodies and power in this country. They have destroyed the family farm, our soil, water, air and the cheap processed food is causing illness and death.

I just reported an almost exact copy of this comment on X yesterday. Waiting to see how they'll respond, but I expect something similar. Is it time for a class-action lawsuit against X?

I'm so sorry, Kay. Regarding the lawsuit idea, Maybe? But with as much money as he has it'll be futile. He knows that and he's super litigious.

I wish I could say I am surprised but this sort of nonsense is becoming more open. It has always been there but Trump emboldens it. Keep up your good work! As a clergy member, now retired after 50 years of service, I want to applaud what you are doing. No one who understands the message of Jesus can spout this sort of hate and yet too often it is those who say they follow him who do it. They must read a different bible than the one I love.
