While I can't speak for everyone, obviously, I deeply appreciate you and your work. The hate mail seems like an awful price to pay for using your voice for good, although when has that ever not been the case? Keep up the good fight, sir, and we'll keep trying to follow the light as best we can.

Mr. Rashid, can you please ask those who are seemingly terrorizing you exact;ly what a terrorist is? does it even have a clear definition? Can a terrorist exist who hasn't felt himself terrorized?

I guess my basic problem is that white Americans (of which I am) do feel terrorized by an economically unjust society but have no idea that they are being primarily terrorized by others of their own race. Is there anyone who can explain that to them?

The people who write these chillingly horrible things are suffering from damages to their brains caused by the alterations that happen when they’re indoctrinated by autocratic cultish people. Those leaders stir up their followers’ damaged brains when they appeal to fear and hate because the part of the brain that responds to those stimuli is more primitive and responds more quickly than the part of the brain that can think rationally and feel compassion. It was necessary for our ancestors’ survival that fear and hate come to us more quickly than the rational part of the brain or we’d have been eaten by tigers. We have to train our brain to respond in a different way now but those who benefit from the non-thinking response of the brain don’t want that to happen because they can’t control you as easily if you’re thinking.

I’m sorry your advocacy for justice scares them. I hope you don’t feel hurt by them. It’s not you.

These comments are horrifying, truly horrifying. Take care of your soul, however you can do that. These people are pouring such cruelty into your psyche. (I worked battling these folks for the past 8 years, and am lucky to have a good therapist. I hope you have a strong support system.)

Such is the logic of humans. We often refer to it as righteous indignation. In this instance it’s blind self righteous ideology. How freeing for these individuals. Hate is so wonderful. Actually, it comes from a deeper source not even related to the subject at hand. No wonder we need heavy armor.

Why is it that white people always think it’s about them? It’s not about them, it is about human rights.

I'm sorry that you have to take this horrible stuff, Qasim. I made one intelligent comment on a post about "they control the weather," and the vitriol shocked me. I responded to two (men) (I believe) and when they kept hammering me, I deleted their messages and moved on. But I'm not super thick-skinned, so it hurts. It made me realize how much "you guys" (i.e., platform people with followers) must have to take, and I'm just so sorry. The fact that they don't even make sense ... makes me feel like I shouldn't even deal with them at all. Hang in there, and stay tender.

The last time I checked, racism was an action performed by a “majority” person/group against a “minority” group. Or by a group in power against a group that was being denied power. You know, like anyone being denied basic human rights.
