Thank you for your work. So many people are afraid to stand against this. It’s easier for them to just ignore it. I try to teach my sons this regularly, but it takes courage to do it, and I’m afraid their need for acceptance oftentimes wins. It’s so disappointing.

Horrifying and so embarrassing the retorts that get posted. I’d like to think Americans are better than this … but… they were labeled “ugly Americans” for a reason.

And… I can no longer say it’s the better educated that don’t feel this way… until I realized I have family members and old friends who still support Trump!

It’s disgusting.

But, I can choose to limit my interactions with them.

We must do better.

Meanwhile, I’m still trying to wrap my head around a 14 year old beating up and raping his 91 year old neighbor- still hospitalized since June 9th.

bigotry and racism sit comfortably next to insecurity and ignorance. those who spew vile insults at learned, intelligent men like you Qasim, are sad, insecure and angry. They have been raised on a diet of superiority and lies, They cannot believe a ‘brown’ man woild be intelligent, passionate and level headed on an assessment of their own actions and thusly spew their anger out there because their own instincts tell them, they should be better than a person of color, but they can feel that they are not. This southern strategy has been worked into the DNA of white people for centuries. long before nixon. Im thrilled that you rise above it.

I am sad that you have to field this hatefulness. I am sad that there is so much of this in the world. I am grateful for the work you do to help us all move toward a more fair and peaceful time. Thank you for your steady good voice. It helps buoy me. My parents, Holocaust survivors, taught me to keep paying attention, stay informed, and do what I can to help where I can. I think the voices of hate can be loud and mean and jarring, but as you said so well in your posting about June, together, we can work with love and compassion toward that true liberty and justice for all. All. Everyone. —Madelyn

One fellow had the audacity to write, “I don’t want to sound like an asshole …” Well, what else does he think he sounds like? It’s very important to publicize these anonymous comments (I say anonymous, because there is no guarantee they are really Tweeting from the United States or that their names are real), and flush out these folks for what they are: not only insecure and weak, but simply stupid. They are the direct opposite of the “supremacists” they believe themselves to be. They’re literally the bottom feeders of the human race. And yes, insecure and sadly meaningless, as they contribute absolutely nothing to mankind. They are also illiterate – unable to write a complete sentence, with proper punctuation, in the English language. Given the amount of Islamophobia and anti-Semitism in the world, including from both side of the Semitic world, no one should ever be surprised that this goes on, since it also funnels down from the top; and when you have American politicians parroting and encouraging this type of grotesque hate, of course, it flourishes.

On a personal note, I was banned from Twitter before it was purchased by Elon Musk, and I never once posted anything even remotely hateful about anyone. Then the platform was purchased by Musk, who pretends to be a First Amendment “absolutist,” and I appealed my case. I lost with no explanation as to why I was banned, except that I did call out these types of disgusting comments! So, take the platform itself with a grain of salt. I believe the platform exists to propagate this type of insidious hatred to draw attention to itself and therefore inflate its popularity numbers and increase its advertising dollars.

Hatred based on the superficial attributes of skin color, race, religion, national origin, gender or any insignificant feature is the basest of human emotions and indicates a person is operating on a superficial level and simply unable to operate on any other level. It declares itself to be the function of mechanically programmed robots. Please know these folks will live, die, and leave nothing behind, because they are incapable of producing anything worth leaving behind. Pity them for what they are, because they are very small and insignificant. Trust in the karmic principals of the universe.

Racists are vile, disgusting creatures and need to be exposed. They lurk in the shadows like the vermin that they are. Some call themselves Christian, but that definition doesn’t fit. Please keep exposing them. They deserve it.

You didn't mention how many such nasty, racist comments you received, but with that many views, you're bound to get a lot of such responses. I get them, too, and sometimes it seems as though a certain site or influencer sends a bunch of clowns to troll us, which is why we may see a sudden influx of hateful replies. Unfortunately, so many people like these exist, and they've been given permission by bigots & demagogues posing as leaders like Trump & a large portion of Republican legislators to spew their vitriol. Be proud of getting as many likes & retweets as you did, and especially for having the courage to stand up for your principles, which is most important.

I am so, so sorry that you are subjected to this kind of hateful rhetoric. You are a beacon of light for us in the way you can respond without stooping to the level of the racists.

Hate speech is so dangerous and so unnecessary.

Thank you for your observations, for sharing your experiences, and for sharing the responses to stating your views. We, that is Americans, can together manage our differences of outlook and belief without hatred and without violence. Too many necessary and mutually beneficial areas of cooperation exist that demand our cooperation and that otherwise, i.e., without choosing cooperation, cannot be made, cannot be realised.

Hatred achieves not any benefits to anyone. Hatred only deepens the potential gorge-like obstacles -- the misunderstandings, the obstructed experience, the unconscious ego stories -- that seem to divide people.

The potential mutual benefit of voluntary and willful cooperation are vitally significant (children give us evidence of this day in and day out) from engagement in even limited conversations to improve mutual understanding and for beginning limited cooperation for mutual benefit and on which, out of which mutual respect can grow. Our constitutional system of governance and laws and norms of constitutional civil society protect each of us and obligate each of us to choose cooperation and to manage differences without violence.

Racists, in actuality, are, as you say, insecure. They somehow imagine they can transfer their despicability of self onto others and not despise themselves quite as much. Unfortunately it is not a very successful transference process. They don't hate others, their self-hatred is far too expansive to give them the ability to, in actuality, hate others.

I would have nothing for pity except there's a very small line between suicidal and murderous tendencies.

And so they are dangerous and mental disease is rampant.

The hateful projection is absolutely real.

Just an observation based on the social media posts you have shared. As racist as they are they are they are not particularly vulgar perhaps because even X tries to prohibit those. I suspect that if these folks are able to communicate with you by email that those would in all likelihood be vulgar as well as racist?

Perhaps I'll share emails in a future post!

Fighting ignorance is not easy. So sorry you have to go through this. You have the support of so many of us. We are with you. They have no idea the harm they cause but hate is the only weapon they have. We have to push and continue exposing them.
