Grounds For Peace — Coffee & Human Rights
This holiday season, consider a gift that supports human rights and gets you delicious coffee
If you enjoy a cup of joe in the morning, or if you care about human rights, this post is for you. As the holiday season kicks off I want to make a pitch, and ask you to support a new coffee company I’ve launched with a few childhood friends called Grounds For Peace. Here’s why. Let’s Address This.
Why Launch Grounds For Peace?
We launched Grounds for Peace with two goals. One, to brew you the best cup of coffee possible. Two, to do so while supporting human rights causes we deeply care about. It’s a win-win combination.
What is Grounds For Peace?
Grounds for Peace is an American coffee roaster that sources coffee direct from producers around the world. We strive to bring you an authentic, vibrant, and soothing cup of coffee. You can be sure that the coffee you order is not pre-packaged burnt coffee from some mega-corporation. Instead, you’ll find an aspiring small group of entrepreneurs trying to merge two of their loves—coffee and human rights.
How Does Grounds For Peace Support Human Rights?
At least 10% of profits from every purchase is invested into human rights causes, because social responsibility is at the core of why we exist. This includes, but is not limited to, supporting Palestinians suffering genocide in Gaza, supporting South Sudanese civilians escaping civil war, fighting for Congolese resisting enslavement, and helping Ukrainians fleeing brutal war imposed upon them. We want out customers to know that not only are they supporting local economies by purchasing our coffee, they’re also supporting just causes for human rights globally.
