Is there any database of locations where consumers have been helped? This would allow me to tell my Congressman something like: Look. The CFPB saved $X millions for people in your district.

It's going to be interesting to watch this all bite them in the ass while other countries (I hope and expect) move to further divest themselves from American financial markets to protect themselves from the corruption being enabled.

Trump’s deregulation spree is turning America into a billionaire’s playground—with Elon at the helm. Wall Street celebrates, workers brace for impact, and oversight vanishes. This article breaks down what’s happening, why it matters, and how to fight back before it’s too late.

A great explanation of this agency helping the American consumer. The grifters and cons never stop. They hate playing it straight. They still make money when following the law. But, they have a common fault with an addicted drug user. They cannot help themselves. They cannot stop. If money is available to steal, they are going to attempt to steal it. These are the facts! Keep up the good work QR. We all need education on our monetary systems. Thank you Sir!!!

Thank your for this article. It's very informative and helpful. I sent an email demanding legal action support for CFPB to my 3 Congressmen tonight. Over the last couple of weeks, I have developed a routine. I make 3 calls in the morning and then send 3 emails in the evening about what ever the latest fires of the day are and recap the previous items. I will continue until the head Nazis are behind bars. Stand strong peps.

What is transpiring is getting scarier and scarier. trump is systematically tearing this country apart, and I cannot see how that is going to end. The GOP does not even have one full spine collectively. Are we headed for a civil war? All I can hope for, and I know no one wants to read this, but he needs to pass, by any means. The existential threat is now a reality. We now not only have to contend with MAGAT cultist lunatics, but also nazis, headed up by Herr trump. Suspending the CFPB was definitely not in the interest of the American people.

Thank you Qasim, for another brilliant posting.

Are credit unions safe? Can we all move our money there, and with that move, punish big banks by investing locally?

Check to see if they're privately insured or federally insured.

Not to be flippant, but have been doing extensive reading on the subject of lawsuits and judicial proceedings in progress. The administration continues to ignore the judicial orders and I read that there isn’t an enforcement arm to stop this horrific abuse of power. If you can correct me, please post.

We're headed towards a constitutional crisis right now and I honestly don't know how it's going to turn out.

Thank you. Have been reading some positive reports, but we the people need to really cause a political crisis for them in return. Trump at some point will more than likely enact martial law. He’s so corrupt with hate.

I think we need to say - Attempts to illegally shut down— or tries to shut down in an impeachable manner without Congress….

-every one keeps saying his illegal actions like they happened or should happen, but really they should be ignored

-I think Congress needs to do a much better job saying and explaining this …

The Trump group are working hard to corrupt our country piece by piece. They know what they’re doing . They are making illegal moves to totally thwart decency. Screwing the people is what they excel at .

This won’t hurt the wealthiest people, this will destroy the financial lives of the poor and about to be poor groups of people.

You don’t have to look far , everything they’ve torn away is helpful to the wealthiest and hurtful to the poorest, exhibiting their disdain for those that aren’t wealthy.

These people have no souls they are constructed of greed entitling them to ransack people and yet they claim to be Christians . Christ wouldn’t have one of them .

Actually, the poor don't have money or credit, the middle class does. Trump started first on attacking the poor (immigrants) in order to get elected; and has now moved on to destroying the middle class. He is making sure there are no consumer protections for anything -- health, food, medicine, banks, the environment, labor, you name it, he and his lackeys will squash it. My ancestry is Ashkenazy Jew, so I can tell you with assuredness that when you have a small percentage of billionaires (it used to be millionaires) controlling everything and everyone else rendered poor, as in Czarist Russia, the despot(s) will eventually wind up in an abandoned mineshaft. Unfortunately, a whole lot of people -- including possibly me -- will lose everything first, before it gets to that. These are evil, evil people we are battling already. Trump was once motivated by revenge; but now I think he may have advanced into Czar territory where he actually believes he's anointed by God. It's a cult, and I don't know how we will stop it. These are scary times.

Yep, exactly right. That's why I'm hopeful people on the right rise above political differences and recognize this is existential class warfare against all of us.

Astounding that anyone could support the dismantling of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which has an impressive track record in battling fraud and defending consumers. This is government at its best.

Exactly right, government of/by/for the people as it was meant to be.

I disagree with the comments made by TriTorch. They sound like something created directly from republican talking points. We need this agency to protect us against questionable practices that businesses employ. It did not just create a layer of bureaucracy as this person contends. It saved ordinary Americans billions of dollars in junk fees. Only a republican who represents banks and is financed by them does not like the agency. Liberties do not include ripping people off. They should be held accountable. There is a balance between freedom and accountability. This holds companies accountable. Nothing you have written says otherwise.

I removed his comment. He posted websites that featured people who fraternized with nazis and white supremacists. I'm happy to address differences of opinion and actual arguments. I will not tolerate nazis on this page.
