So I somehow missed that people replied to my comment. Two months ago LOL

Many thanks to all of you! I'm doing well...I'm one of the 5% of cancer patients where they can't find the source. (They know it's lung cancer because I have a "pleural effusion"...it's where fluid accumulates at the bottom of the lung...and when they tested it, they found the cancer cells.)

To "it's me - iykyk", your chemo drugs should absolutely be covered. (Mine are.) I'm not sure who you can talk to about this...does your insurance have a patient advocate?

United Health Care sucks! I've had them for several years and every time I re-enroll, those B******* cut my benefits or increase my co-pays or leave me with large balances on medications I need to keep me functional in my life. I'm so sick of them taking advantage of people like me. I don't advocate murder, but I understand where the guy that murdered Thompson was coming from. IMO, these POSs that run these companies, should be stricken with cancer so they know what their patients are going through.

Tragic everyday. It's unconscionable what corporate greed is stealing every moment. Yes every moment. It's not just Health Care (a funny name for "no" care) it's deregulation of banks, environmental regulations (as the planet burns out of control) etc.

Would it be effective to have a class action lawsuit against these health insurance companies which have denied treatment or demanded exorbitant prices?

You’re consistently one of the best writers on Substack. Thank you.

How about a class action lawsuit against UHC, similar to the ones against Perdue Pharma and the Sackler family?

Years ago a pharmacist in Kansas City was convicted of murder because he was diluting cancer drugs and charging extremely inflated charges for them…. This seems to be the same type of crime to me - murder for profit….

100% agree. No discernible difference.

Can't the FTC do anything, after the scathing report?

Will depend on the next administration sadly

And we know how that will play out.

Are you considering making another run for office? You're still young, have a large & growing following that greatly admires you, and you are just what we need in office.

I never say never but right now with all the corporate money it seems quite difficult. Grateful for the support here

The criminal intent lies in the fact that actuarials are now predicting cancer diagnosis probability is 80% by age 70? Insurance agents are now selling cancer policies up the yin yang because they know a regular health insurance policy even under ADA will not cover treatment. Insurance companies know this. It's a complete grift and the taxpayers are subsidizing the insurance premiums and then insurance companies don't approve treatment or allow svc providers and pharmacy benefit mgrs to rape people in desperate but predictable circumstances. It's 100% premeditated. It's a business plan. If everyone who makes under say $150k/yr does the math, whatever they or their employer is paying in premiums will be more than they would have to pay in taxes and it would be a true indemnity. If you're super flush you can still bribe the hospital or get drugs from Cuba that pharma won't manufacture in the US.

the cash cow has always been big pharma... their medicines that back their lies about health - it is absolutely not health care... and it is truly criminal the way this is offered the world over

Yep! Bankrupting Americans, who have mortgaged their homes to pay “insurance” and medical bills🤨. WAY PAST TIME! To shut this theft! And Denials DOWN! The world has been laughing at US, but too polite to make it public. Canadians have been tisk, tisking at us for 50 years.

Keep talking about it Qasim. These people love money above anything. They are sick individuals. How the hell do they go to asleep at night boggles the mind. They missed their time. They would have been great Nazi guards at Auschwitz. Something is wrong with their minds. But, this is a short life. They don’t realize, we all are going to have to answer for what we did in this world. They made the choice. The devil never rests, he looks for the weak!

Will absolutely not be silent about this ongoing injustice until it is addressed.

For years I saw myself as failing because I couldn't afford medical care, I shamed myself. I'm starting to see the shame needs to shift.

Shed all the shame. Healthcare is a right. The only people who should feel any sense of shame are the HELL corporations who make our lives miserable. Sadly they can't feel shame because they have no shame.

And also the politicians that perpetuate this travesty of justice & decency on behalf of their corporate donors.

It's not even the case that "our laws hold the killing of one CEO incomparably worse than the ongoing killing of countless cancer patients" - it's our *law enforcement authorities* protecting their own. Brian Thompson committed innumerable counts of second degree murder, for which he *should have been serving* multiple consecutive terms of 15 years to life. NYPL § 125.25(2).
