BREAKING: Biden Withdraws, Endorses Harris
The three things VP Harris must do to win the White House, win back the House, and maintain the Senate
After weeks of speculation, President Biden has announced that he will not seek re-election. He has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to take up the mantle of the presidency. In his letter to the country, President Biden wrote, “I believe it is in the best interest of my party and my country for me to stand down.” As the nation absorbs this significant transition, here are three critical steps that Vice President Harris must take to secure the White House, win back the House, maintain control of the Senate—and ultimately work towards saving our democracy.
Let’s Address This.
1. Expose the Dangers of Project 2025
Vice President Harris must launch a full-court press against the fascist Project 2025. This initiative poses a severe threat to our democracy, decimating voting rights, reproductive rights, immigration, education—every major pillar of separation of religion and state. As I’ve written before, electing Trump will further accelerate Project 2025’s goal of implementing Christian nationalism in American government.
VP Harris must articulate clearly and forcefully how Project 2025 undermines democratic principles and threatens the very foundation of our nation. By highlighting the dangers and rallying the public against it, she can galvanize support and build a broad coalition dedicated to preserving our democracy.
2. Present an Inspiring Vision of Economic, Social, and Climate Justice
While exposing the dangers of Project 2025 is necessary, it is not sufficient to win this election. We need bold leadership on what we are running for and voting for—namely economic, social, and climate justice for all people in this country. Currently, 78% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, struggling to make ends meet. Meanwhile, anti-Black, anti-Muslim, antisemitic, anti-LGBTQ, anti-Immigrant and misogynistic hate crimes are at record highs.
Additionally, the last 12 months have been the hottest on record, underscoring the urgency of the climate crisis. Vice President Harris’s opening remarks and subsequent campaign must focus on a robust economic agenda that addresses income inequality and provides tangible relief to struggling families. She must also commit to combating white supremacy and terrorism, ensuring that all Americans can live free from fear and discrimination.
Finally, her climate justice policy must be comprehensive and ambitious, tackling the root causes of climate change and promoting sustainable solutions that protect our planet while strengthening our economy and job growth. Doing so will continue to active new and younger voters who are starved for attention from a President who acts with urgency on climate. VP Harris has previously endorsed the Green New Deal and Medicare for All — now is the time to act upon it.
3. Stand Firm Against War Crimes in Palestine
With Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu visiting this week, Vice President Harris has a crucial opportunity to address the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people. She must unequivocally condemn the war crimes being committed and demand accountability from Israel. By taking a strong stand, Harris can signal that the United States will no longer fund these atrocities and that human rights will be a cornerstone of her foreign policy.
This position not only aligns with the values of many Americans but also distinguishes her from previous administrations (i.e. the current White House administration) that have often turned a blind eye to these issues.
Conclusion
If Vice President Harris can effectively combat Project 2025, present a compelling vision of economic, social, and climate justice, and recognize and act to end the horrific war crimes being committed against the Palestinian people, she will not only secure the presidency but also strengthen the Democratic hold on the Senate and reclaim the House. The path forward requires boldness, clarity, and an unwavering commitment to justice and equality for all. I am hopeful that VP Harris will rise to the challenge, because our literal democracy and global peace is at stake.

You know, all we hear about is whether America is ready for a black woman in the White House. And yet no one seems to ask whether the country is ready for a convicted felon, liar, racist, misogynist, mentally deranged old man for president.
Bullseye. Those are the precise issues she should be running on. I think she will wipe up the floor with Trump.
