There was an old time comedian named Red Skelton. He recalls a teacher outlining each word in the Pledge of Allegience. It’s kind of long by today’s standards but it’s so true:

Mr. Rashid- I used the "Gift Subscription" button you had in one of your messages a few days ago to send a couple of gift subscription to "Let's Address This". People really appreciated the gift. Would you pls. consider having that " Give a Give Subscription" message with each of your articles? People would undoubtedly like to use...birthdays, just general gifts. Thanks for "being there" and giving us an option to legacy, corporate media. From a reader in Virginia

I work for the bank the Sedgewicks founded. Elizabeth Freeman is mentioned frequently when our history is discussed.

Well Fuck… BOOM!

First article I’ve read this year and it was a bloody doozy!

So much wisdom. I got stuck on the meta analysis of such incredible writing… then it happened…

The message of the article became clear… and for someone who believes we are a superioridly stupid animal in the animal kingdom, it felt right.

It’s the “smart enough be to dangerous, but dumb enough to not know it” syndrome. We are NEVER absolutely sure about anything just less wrong over time… IF we choose to look.

My favourite Substack right now for over a YEAR now! 😆
